Abstract:
A challenge faced by network operations center (NOC) personnel responsible for large, complex IP networks is locating the network issues that affect application performance or availability. This is due to the sheer number of ways that traffic can traverse a large network.
According to a recent survey by analyst firm Kubernan, network issues were involved in over 50% of application delivery problems. Given this, speed and accuracy in diagnosing application or service-affecting network issues is a serious matter for IT organizations seeking to provide excellent service.
This application note explains how
route analytics can be deployed easily in routine NOC procedures to speed
initial diagnosis of network issues contributing to application degradation, and
to provide time-saving data to network and application engineers called upon
collaboratively to solve the problem.
