responding to an introductory challenge by Robin Layland. While you

Application Acceleration Challenge: The Paper The question is not whether an accelerator is in your network’s future, but whose accelerator you will use. Vendors differ in their architecture, features, and techniques. The Application Acceleration Challenge goal is to help you, the network manager, understand acceleration and the vendors who are offering it. Robin Layland gathered together the leading vendors - Riverbed, Packeteer, Expand Networks, Citrix and Juniper - and asked them to give an overview of the solutions they offer. Specifically, he asked each of them to answer the following questions:
Robin did not ask the vendors to spend time explaining the importance of application acceleration, so you will not see the normal "marketing" position on the importance of application acceleration. In the brief space, he asked them to concentrate only on the key advantages of their product to allow you to gain a flavor for the type of solution each offers. At the end of each section, the vendor’s contact information is provided. We encourage you to talk with them to learn more about application acceleration and their unique solutions.
