A lot of companies are migrating from legacy TDM trunks to SIP trunks - this is abundantly clear and well documented across the industry... Yet some are also adopting cloud services instead of having systems on-Premises. SIP is critical for all of these services.
Some companies are taking the 'Hybrid' approach where they retain things like Call control on-Premises, utilize SIP trunks for connectivity and then connect to the 'cloud' to add on functionality such as Contact Center, Call Recording, IVR (Interactive Voice Response), virtual eSBC deployment, and more. Also, some companies are watching and waiting to see what happens with mergers and acquisitions.
